Langley Lamb & Woolcraft

Established: 1982
Meetings: Once a month on the second Monday (Jan. – June), 6:45pm

This club is a fun and exciting environment where members truly “learn to do by doing”!

Our clubs offers sheep projects (such as market lamb, ewe lamb, and carcass lamb) as well as various woolcraft projects (where members learn skills such as wool felting, knitting, crocheting, making yarn, etc.). We meet once a month to discuss club business and plan events. Throughout the 4-H year we learn communication skills through club speeches and demonstrations and also judging skills at the district judging rally. We hold club fundraisers and field days, which are fun, easygoing get-togethers where we learn more about our projects and socialize as a club. In the summer we learn all about showmanship by participating in Achievement Day (usually in early August) and by taking our projects to local fairs such as the Maple Ridge fair, Chilliwack Exhibition, and the PNE in Vancouver.

At the end of the 4-H season we wrap up with a club banquet, where members are awarded for the hard work they have put in throughout the year.

Overall, our club is a fun, encouraging environment where members can learn more about sheep, woolcraft, and the 4-H program. Members will develop skills in communication and showmanship, as well as teamwork and responsibility, all the while building confidence through fun activities and friendly competition. We emphasize the benefit of 4-H as a place to grow and “learn to do by doing.” Come check us out!
